3 Common Dental Problems That Can Be Treated With Invisalign

Invisalign is a common tooth straightening system that has been used in place of metal braces in many cases. Crooked Teeth
This is perhaps the most common problem treated with Invisalign. Teeth that are crooked can be slowly shifted back into place by the aligner trays. In this case, the trays will be designed to place pressure on one side of each crooked tooth, which will slowly help to rotate it around in your jaw. This has to be done slowly as the jaw bone has to remodel around the tooth as it rotates in the jaw. The reformed jaw bone will then hold the tooth in its new position once Invisalign has thoroughly straightened it.
Gapped Teeth
Is there a small gap between your two front teeth? If so, Invisalign can help close that gap. In this case, the trays will be designed to slowly push all of your teeth forward and together. This way, closing the gap won't just generate a new gap somewhere else. Most people who use Invisalign for this purpose close a gap between their two front teeth, but sometimes, they work to close a gap elsewhere in the mouth.
Overbites and Underbites
When you close your mouth, do your top teeth protrude too far out past your bottom teeth? If so, you have what's known as an overbite. Serious overbites often need to be corrected surgically, but minor ones can be corrected with Invisalign. The trays will be designed to slowly push the top teeth back while at the same time straightening them so you can bite straight down.
If you close your mouth and your front teeth land pretty far behind your bottom teeth, that is called an underbite. This can also be corrected with Invisalign. In this case, the trays will be designed to push your top teeth forward, your bottom teeth back, or both.
